IP Network Adapters

3Many new contribution and distribution networks are being built based on IP networks. Using IP offers service providers the flexibility to rapidly launch new video and data services. In addition to the increased flexibility, there is a significant opportunity to achieve CAPEX savings and OPEX savings.

D9402 distribution IP-to-ASI network adapter
The modular D9402™ adapter has up to six ASI receivers per Rack Unit (RU) and can support RTP with FEC COP-3 for faultless transmission. Proven de-jittering algorithm and robust clock synchronization circuitry enables reliable operation in SFN networks.

D9435 ASI-to-IP Gateway
The user-configurable, bidirectional D9435™ is designed to support FEC COP 3 and has optional fast clock recovery with GPS to ease operation in SFN networks. It has up to eight ASI ports per RU.

D943xx SDI-to-IP Gateway series
Baseband digital video transport is increasing in popularity as broadcasters and content providers desire to maintain maximum video quality while networks are now capable of carrying the required bandwidth. The D9430™ SDI to IP Gateway is a bidirectional SDI transport adapter for baseband video transport over IP networks. The FEC COP-4 implementation is built to make the unit ideal for use in contribution networks. The unit is user-configurable for Rx or Tx operation, supporting extensive flexibility in the network.

The D9431 JPEG2000 SDI to IP Gateway adds JPEG 2000 compression to the D9430. JPEG 2000 compresses the SDI signal for efficient transport while maintain high picture quality and low delay. JPEG 2000 uses an Intra Frame coding method that maintains video quality even after multiple encodes. Typical bitrates are 15-25 Mbps (10 bit samples), resulting in significant savings compared to 270 Mbps uncompressed SDI signal. Low latency compression (100msec typical) makes the unit suitable for live contribution.

The D9432JPEG2000 HD-SDI to IP Gateway is a bidirectional gateway with the same features as the D9431, but for transport of SD as well as HD content (auto-sense). The compression ratio is impressive (compression from 1.5 Gbit/s down to 50-200 Mbps), resulting in significant bandwidth savings on contribution links.

ATM Network Adapters

Our ATM network adapters are designed to enable broadcasters and telecom operators to take advantage of the added flexibility and cost savings for video and IP transmission over ATM. We believe they can be ideal solutions for a wide range of digital broadcasting applications including high-quality video contribution services and distribution services such as DVB/DTV applications.

D9403 Compact ATM Adapter1

The D9403™ can be equipped with STM-1/OC-3C SDH interfaces – both optical and electrical - or alternatively by software-configurable E3/DS3 PDH interfaces. The D9403 can support bi-directional video distribution and can be equipped with up to 3 independent ASI modules, either ASI IN or ASI OUT, to handle the input and output of digital video or data content. Two Ethernet network connectors are intended to separate used data connections over broadband networks (IP over ATM) from the management traffic. Downlad the datasheet.

D9408 Advanced ATM adaptor
2The D9408™ is a modular, versatile ATM adaptor providing scalable redundancy, ranging from redundant power supplies, over redundant network interfaces up to redundant service cards. It provides eight Service slots that can be equipped with up to 32 ASI interfaces, E1/T1, various network interfaces and Ethernet Bridging modules. The service slots can also be equipped with a Ring Controller that helps enable new possibilities for creating new ring configurations and connecting two different ATM networks, saving entire ATM-switches in the system design. The D9408 can support up to two aggregation slots and provide connections to SDH/SONET, ATM and PDH networks ranging from electrical E3 PDH interfaces up to optical STM-4/OC12C interfaces.
