Transportation Planner

| Description |
|
You are part of the team based in our European Distribution
Centre (EDC) in Heule, where you execute the daily processing
of our domestic and international shipments. You follow up
orders from the creation of pick orders till the check of
invoices.
You have close contact with our logistics partners, arranging
air cargo, seaborne freight & road transports. You negotiate
conditions to optimize costs.
You are in daily communication with different departments
within the company (Sales, Planning, Finance …), locally and
intercompany worldwide.
You ensure our on time delivery and quality goals are met.
Over time, you will be responsible for strategic improvement
initiatives related to both in- and outbound shipping processes
& improving and reporting the KPI's related to transport and
optimizing transport costs.
You will report to the EDC Manager for the tactical part
of the job and to the Supply Chain Manager for the strategic
part.

| Profile |
- You have a Bachelor degree dispatching or logistical management
or a Master degree Applied Economics with option transport
economics/logistics; or equivalent through experience.
- You have 5+ years of operational experience in dispatching;
experience in a warehouse is a plus. You are familiar with
the various types of shipping documents.
- You have strong planning and organizational skills. You
are flexible and able to manage multiple projects, with
eye for detail.
- You are able to work independently with a problem solving
attitude.
- You feel confident in both the operational & the strategic
work aspects of a dispatching team.
- You have an analytical mind.
- You are flexible and open to new ideas and changes. You
take initiative.
- You are a team player with strong communication skills.
- You are familiar with MS Office applications & SAP or
other ERP system.
- You are multilingual, at least including Dutch, English
& French. Knowledge of German or another European language
is a plus.
