Senior Purchasing Manager

Description

You are responsible for executing the corporate strategy from Atlanta and sole internal customer, Cisco BV International. You define additional Purchasing KPIs in support of Corporate and BV KPIs and goals. You define the purchasing strategy for the local plant in Kortrijk.

You are responsible for the management, monitoring, analysis, governance, and corrective action for the Purchasing department in Kortrijk. You prioritize and assign purchasing tasks to the local purchasing team. You ensures timely product delivery and follow-up of on time performance to MRP need date. You manage the processes for issuing purchase order documents and data for delivery of raw materials and finished goods based on inputs from internal and external customers Cisco BV. You make recommendations to improve service to internal and external customers based on analyzing material/product and services flows and requirements. You maintain a close liaison with the local supply chain function, Sales Operations, Product Management and Marketing Management.

Total Suppliers with activity within EMEA: 700
Direct Material Suppliers: 300
Active part numbers over 12 months: 5,443
Annual Spend Responsibility: $100M

Additional Operational Support: Modems, IPTV, Explorer, Logistical repair & support interface

Specific Duties:

  • Define and implement Purchasing policies for the local facility in support of Corporate and Cisco BV goals.
  • Develop and maintain well trained, motivated and professional purchasing staff.
  • Negotiation and administration of local supplier agreements and contracts.
  • Managing supplier relationships and metrics to drive best overall value to company and local facility.
  • Effective proactive liaison with corporate procurement commodity teams as necessary to negotiate with and manage supply base.
  • Effective proactive liaison with engineering in support of new and legacy designs in order to maintain preferred supplier usage.
  • Support all reverse logistics and service activities for EMEA Operation
 
Profile
  • Strong people management, organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • You have a global view of supply chain management (APICS or ISM certification a plus)
  • Open to collaboration with multiple locations and functional groups
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)
  • Obviously, you have excellent communication skills
  • You have advanced computer skills (MS Office)
  • You are willing to travel occasionally (max 15%)
